Vintage tube testers almost always, due to age, have very low heater voltage s. The lines show how tube conducts throughout that range volts .

This is subjective and it too time consuming. On all of them I have an outside regulated dc power supply that feeds the tube tester correct heater voltage . This is an honesty issue.

Do not handle the tubes or hold them from cylinder. I also use a tectonics curve tracer for testing tirades. They average 5.

Every tester I have ever bought is below 6 volts when selecting. This is a mutual conductance tester. It give a percentage value of gm for the tube under test and checks shorts grid emissions.

I only guarantee that these tubes will test good, with no shorts, or gas, on a decent calibrated tester.

The tectonics curve tracer gives values within 3 of actual value. If you are buying only one item this will not be an issue.
