The 252-A Scarce Western Electric 252A Vacuum Tube Globe Base Audio Amplifier is a truly unique and rare piece of vintage audio equipment. This amplifier is a testament to the craftsmanship and innovation of the golden era of audio technology.

The 252-A is housed in a vintage Globe Base, a design that was once common but is now quite scarce. The base is made of heavy-duty cast aluminum, with a polished finish that exudes a timeless elegance. The Globe Base is topped with a large, clear glass dome, offering a glimpse into the inner workings of the amplifier. The glow of the vacuum tubes inside casts an enchanting and warm glow, making this amplifier a decorative piece as well as a functional one.

The 252-A is a dual-triode vacuum tube amplifier, with two 252A vacuum tubes at its heart. These tubes were once the backbone of high-fidelity audio systems, known for their ability to deliver rich, detailed sound with a warm, natural tone. The 252-A has been meticulously restored to bring these tubes back to their former glory, ensuring that it delivers great results in terms of sound quality.

The amplifier features two inputs, allowing you to connect two sources, such as a turntable and a CD player. It has a single output, capable of driving a pair of high-impedance speakers. The controls are simple and straightforward, with a volume knob and an input selection switch.

In use, the 252-A delivers a sound that is rich, warm, and detailed. The vacuum tubes add a sense of depth and warmth that is missing from modern solid-state amplifiers. The sound is clear and detailed, with a smooth and even response across the frequency spectrum. The 252-A is particularly good with vocals and acoustic instruments, but it can handle a wide range of music genres with ease.

In conclusion, the 252-A Scarce Western Electric 252A Vacuum Tube Globe Base Audio Amplifier is not just a piece of audio equipment, but a piece of history. It is a testament to the craftsmanship and innovation of the past, and a reminder of the joy of listening to music the way it was meant to be heard. Details:

This is a scarce early version of the we 252a. If you love Western Electric, cannot let this tube pass by. A very hard to find audio amplifier.

There are no loose particles within the envelope and glass is tight to base. Here you are buying on a single, used Western Electric 252-A vacuum tube with globe-shaped glass envelope and an early, engraved base.

This is an excellent tube. The tube was tested on an at-1000 tester with plate voltage at 400 volts , bias 60 and anticipated current of 29 ma.

Internal structure and fetter are very nice as you can see from the photographs. The auto bias mode was used.

I have been shipping these kind of vintage items worldwide since the late 1980 's. No gas issues.

This is a very rare audio amplifier, indeed. Something for everyone. The test results indicated emission at 102 of specification and trans conductance 92.
