The approximate output in watts RMS is about 30, 22, and 16 respectively. If you really push 'em hard into a 3300 ohm tapped output transformer, power output would be about 28 watts . The red dot above 400 volts is a possible idle current setting. The formulas found in some tube manuals would calculate out to a larger output in watts , but doesn't account for circuit losses in the output transformers and so on.
Solid and strong. I cracked a used one open and they are built like the proverbial brick outhouse. Made with Solid graphite plates, giant cathodes, and a hard glass tube envelope.
The pair shown above put out about 17 watts per channel, and always sounded much bigger, and never sounded under powered, even into my celestial Del 5 speakers, which are not very efficient. These are state of the art triodes. With about 43 volts on the grids, the tubes will draw about 70ma each, and dissipate a conservative 24. I bought up these nos 6528s to build a pair of triode amps.
It is rated for 400 volts on the plate, and each triode can dissipate 30 watts , or 60 watts total. It is a twin triode two big, rugged, durable power triodes inside a single tube. At 400 volts , and a grid bias voltage of about 50v, the tubes will idle at about 60ma, for a conservative idle dissipation of 24 watts per tube, well below the 30 watt maximum. I had designed and built several tube amps earlier, including a pair of push pull triode mono blocks, one shown above.
These figures are pretty close to real world. The formula I used here is a conservative one. But they sounded so good I couldn't quite find the time to tackle another push pull triode project. A pair of nos new old stock Tung Sol 6528A vacuum tubes.
Above are 400 volt plate family curves, and load lines for push pull audio outputs with output transformers of 4500 ohms, 6600 ohms, and 10,000 ohms tapped. I used triode connected horizontal deflection tubes with a b of 350 volts . With 4500 ohm, 6600 ohm and 8000 ohm tapped push pull output, the powers would be about 22, 17, and 14 watts respectively.
Amplification factor mu is about 9 and trans conductance is about 37,000 um hos. Above, same story except with a more conservative b supply at 350 volts . The 6528 is maybe the ultimate power triode.
