And on the base bottom around pins is molded into plastic Qrs Redtop. The tube dates to as early 1924. There is the sound of something loose tinkling inside when tipping tube, but nothing can be seen tumbling around glass.

Qrs music company out of Chicago made tubes that actually had red glass tops, but this one is a clear globe. The '85 mill' is similar to a type b-h or bh tube, an interesting 'cold cathode full-wave rectifier' 4-pin filament less tube that uses only three of pins, two for plates and single connection. This Qrs tube is etched around the base rectifier 85 mill pats. I'm selling it as is for display purposes, though might be functional.

Etched on the base apparently didn't work out as hoped. Stokes, 70 years of radio tubes and valves. These were mostly used in battery eliminators for 1920s radios.

None of my tube testers can test this type very early vacuum tube, but i'verified there is infinite resistance between each pin, thus no shorts at least. The 85 mill name refers to its ma of current, at 200 volts .
