Review MULLARD England Uk Nos Vacuum Tube Hickok Tested 100

The DAF96 Mullard NOS Vacuum Tube by Hickok is a true vintage treasure for audiophiles and electronics enthusiasts. This device is a NOS (New Old Stock) 12AX7 equivalent, manufactured by Mullard, a renowned British electronics company that was a significant player in the vacuum tube industry during its time.

The DAF96 is a dual triode tube, designed for use in various applications such as preamps, amplifiers, and oscillators. It boasts a high gain factor, making it an excellent choice for voltage amplification. The tube's construction is of the highest quality, with a thick glass envelope that ensures durability and longevity.

The DAF96 Mullard NOS Vacuum Tube by Hickok is known for its warm, rich sound and high-frequency response, which makes it a popular choice for music lovers and audio engineers seeking a vintage tone. It is also appreciated for its low noise floor, which allows for excellent signal-to-noise ratio.

The tube is tested and certified as NOS, meaning it has never been used before and has been stored in ideal conditions, ensuring it is in perfect working order. It is packaged securely to ensure safe delivery.

In conclusion, the DAF96 Mullard NOS Vacuum Tube by Hickok is an excellent investment for anyone seeking a truly authentic vintage tube sound. Its high-quality construction, warm tone, and low noise floor make it a valuable addition to any audio setup.

Pros of buying DAF96 Mullard NOS (New Old Stock) vacuum tubes from Hickok:

1. Authenticity: NOS tubes are original, unopened, and unused tubes that have been stored in a vacuum seal for decades. They are often considered to be of higher quality than modern tubes due to their longer manufacturing process and better materials.

2. Durability: Vacuum tubes have no moving parts, so they are less likely to fail than modern electronics. NOS tubes are often in better condition than used tubes because they have not been exposed to the elements or subjected to wear and tear.

3. Sound quality: Vacuum tubes have a warm and rich sound that is often preferred by audiophiles. NOS tubes can offer even better sound quality than modern tubes due to their higher-quality materials and longer manufacturing process.

4. Collectibility: Vacuum tubes are a popular collectible, and NOS tubes can be especially valuable. Collectors often pay a premium for NOS tubes, making them a potential investment.

Cons of buying DAF96 Mullard NOS vacuum tubes from Hickok:

1. Cost: NOS tubes can be more expensive than modern tubes due to their scarcity and the cost of storing and maintaining them in a vacuum seal.

2. Availability: Not all NOS tubes are readily available, and some models may be difficult or impossible to find. This can make it challenging to find the specific tube you need for your project.

3. Compatibility: Not all vintage equipment is compatible with NOS tubes, so it's important to check the specifications of your equipment to ensure compatibility.

4. Maintenance: Vacuum tubes require regular maintenance to ensure they continue to function properly. This includes regular cleaning and alignment, which can be time-consuming and require specialized tools.

Conclusion:

Buying DAF96 Mullard NOS vacuum tubes from Hickok can offer several benefits, including superior sound quality, durability, and collectibility. However, the cost and availability of NOS tubes can be a significant drawback for some. It's important to weigh these pros and cons and determine if the benefits of NOS tubes outweigh the costs for your specific situation. If you are an audiophile or collector and value the unique sound and history of vintage equipment, NOS tubes may be worth the investment.

Recommendation:

If you are interested in buying DAF96 Mullard NOS vacuum tubes from Hickok, I recommend researching the specific model you need to ensure it is available and compatible with your equipment. Consider the cost of NOS tubes and whether the benefits they offer are worth the investment for your specific situation. If you are unsure, you may want to consider purchasing modern tubes instead, which can often offer similar sound quality at a lower cost.

Details:

So to recap. May be very light scratching but not noticeable or the case cover scuffed a little excellent ware to both CD record. So take a good look.

Light scratching to the case cover. If I say untested. In photographs we occasionally use props to display items the best light possible.

This offer is for a. If it does not say base, stand, table in either the main body of or title. I also sometimes use a hickok 752 for testing if state any values they are guide only. So this shows what I get, and you get may be slightly different.

I am not a huge retail outlet. Most have one. Please realize when buying antique, vintage or used equipment that they cannot be in an absolute mint perfect condition, might need some service, now later.

Cd record does not play. Fully working. I take lots of pictures so you can see cosmetics.

If you're unhappy with an item. We check and describe the as much of functionality can.

In regards to the case cover then this grading means or sleeve is badly torn, scuffed, cracked and falling apart. Rectifiers and diode tubes do not have trans conductance values. This is a process, and it takes time.

The numbers letters in parentheses are equivalents put to help people find correct tube. Like new - used but no obvious signs of use.

May be good or above. I make mistakes once in a while. That is what they are there for. Or have only gone so far to test it.

Or if this is in grading regard to the case cover then there may be cracks torn has rips along its edges scuffed quite badly. In these cases it is best buying on as if was broken. Heavy scratching to the disc.

Cd record still plays ok. I do not publish test results in the listing as what get, and someone else might get can be different.

They will normally want to see the item and packing. Use the zoom function and have a good look.

It is just my opinion and I would rather paint a bleaker picture of something than saying better. If fully tested then that is what they are. It is impossible to describe every scratch, scuff or mark.

Whilst I endeavor to put tubes together from the same year and look same, this is not always case. New old stock photos shown in this listing are of the actual item for sale. Fair - the CD. Record plays, sometimes skips.

I am quite harsh on what is good and bad. Cd still plays well.

New - unopened brand new, sealed. It is up to you make a judgment call and decide if worth the risk of buying. Very good plus - used, some light scratching to either the case or CD record.

I use a tv7 u military spec tester which is calibrated.

Sorry for you having to read this but would be surprised how many people think the items come with my table or a part of anatomy that I have accidentally caught on camera. When using the word matched it means in test results rather than cosmetic looks.

Cover is in good condition but has normal wear and tear. Slightly heavier than above.

Light and medium scratching. By buying on this item you agree to these stipulations and follow the instructions of post office, or carrier.

Then they are not included in the sale. In regards to the case or cover, then cover is just holding itself together.

All tubes have passed the gas and short tests. Medium to heavy scratching. All tubes purchased have loads of life left in them.

Vacuum tube testing I do not sell just passable tubes. I have 4 of these machines and all display a slightly differing value if test the same tube, as two testers are never.

Please have a look at the pictures for cosmetic condition. I also pack well. I try to resolve any issue both our best interests.

If not fully tested, then items are to the full extent and may have something wrong that I discovered. If it does not say matched then please do consider them to be such.

Low and weak tubes are unceremoniously thrown in the nearest trash can, unless they collectors items. This means that I have tested something not to its full extent.

Very good - used light scratching to both the case and CD record. Then I have not test it. I may have the same tube but from differing years matched up in test results, which means they cosmetically or internally look a little different.
