( Brand: Dumont ), ( Manufacturer Part Number: 5ATP1 ), ( Country//region Of Manufacture: United States ), ( Type: Cathode Ray Tube )
The 5ATP1 Cathode Clock Ray Filament CRT Dumont Scope Tube is a high-quality vintage oscilloscope tube, ideal for use with older oscilloscopes and other electronic test equipment. This tube is a Cathode Clock Ray Filament type, which means it uses a filament to heat up a cathode, which in turn emits electrons that create the display on the CRT screen.
The 5ATP1 tube is manufactured by Dumont, a renowned name in the field of electronic components. Dumont tubes are known for their durability, reliability, and high performance. This tube is no exception. It has a 5ATP1 designation, which indicates its specific characteristics, such as its voltage and current ratings, and its sensitivity to input signals.
The 5ATP1 tube is a dual-triode, meaning it has two active sections, each capable of amplifying or oscillating an input signal. This makes it a versatile choice for a wide range of applications, from basic signal amplification to more complex oscillator circuits.
The tube is equipped with a cathode clock ray filament, which provides a steady stream of electrons to the screen. This ensures a stable and consistent display, even under high-load conditions. The filament is made of a high-temperature material that can withstand the intense heat generated by the tube.
The 5ATP1 tube is designed for use with a 12AT7 or similar input stage tube. It operates at a voltage of 250V and a current of 100mA. The tube has a sensitivity of 10mV/cm, which means it can display signals as small as 10 millivolts with a 1-centimeter deflection on the screen.
The tube is housed in a glass envelope, which provides protection against the high voltages and gases inside the tube. The envelope is made of high-quality borosilicate glass, which is resistant to thermal shock and can withstand the intense heat generated by the tube.
In summary, the 5ATP1 Cathode Clock Ray Filament CRT Dumont Scope Tube is a high-performance, reliable, and durable tube suitable for a wide range of oscilloscope and electronic test equipment applications. Its dual-triode design, cathode clock ray filament, and high sensitivity make it a versatile and powerful tool for any electronics enthusiast or professional.

Cons of buying a 5ATP1 Cathode Clock Ray Filament CRT Dumont Scope Tube Oscilloscope for OK:1. Limited Functionality: Compared to modern digital oscilloscopes, vintage oscilloscopes have limited functionality and may not be suitable for professional use.
2. Maintenance: Vintage oscilloscopes require regular maintenance and calibration to ensure they are functioning properly.
3. Power Consumption: CRT tubes consume a lot of power, which can be a drawback for those looking for energy-efficient devices.
4. Limited Availability: Vintage oscilloscopes are hard to find and can be expensive, making them a less practical option for those on a budget.
5. Compatibility: Vintage oscilloscopes may not be compatible with modern equipment, making them less versatile than modern digital oscilloscopes.
Conclusion:A 5ATP1 Cathode Clock Ray Filament CRT Dumont Scope Tube Oscilloscope can be a great addition to any collection or for those who are interested in vintage technology. However, it is important to consider the limitations of these devices before making a purchase. They may not be suitable for professional use or for those looking for a more modern or versatile oscilloscope.
Recommendation:If you are looking for a vintage oscilloscope for collection or nostalgic purposes, a 5ATP1 Cathode Clock Ray Filament CRT Dumont Scope Tube Oscilloscope can be a great choice. However, if you are looking for a more functional and versatile oscilloscope, a modern digital oscilloscope may be a better option. It is important to weigh the pros and cons and consider your specific needs before making a purchase.
It could be used for custom electronics projects such as scope clocks or other crt devices, but it requires a fairly high anode voltage 6kv. You are buying on a vintage Dumont 5ATP1 cathode ray tube crt, tested to have filament continuity.
I'll trust you and you can trust me to do right. The filament shows continuity see last photo.
The 5ATP1 is among the most linear crt's Dumont made during the 1950's. It is an electrostatic deflection crt side pins on neck with a bright green short persistence trace. I have no way to test this tube further, however, because I do not have a scope designed for it. Dumont's 5ATP1 is a flat face crt with very high sensitivity, developed for observing high frequency signals.
Inside the USA choose either ups ground or priority mail, whichever is best for you. In fact, I could find very little information about this tube other than the fact that it was used in some 1950's Dumont laboratory quality oscilloscopes.
