Details:
Am selling for parts restoration only as I can't claim that the rest of sound won't go at anytime. Unfortunately, the am band on this radio does not work anymore. I imagine this radio played many a Beatles song back in its hey-day. Is very satisfying.
However, the station that shows on knob is a little bit higher than actual tuned in example: 104. There is a label on the bottom where model number stamped c845l. The radio weighs approximately 14. The radio takes about 5-10 seconds to warm up.
There is something very cool about listening to rock n' roll on it. This old workhorse packs 50 watts 117 volts of pure unadulterated vintage high fidelity tube sound. The tone control is sticking out a little bit see picture.
Here is a great restoration project vintage Zeniths high fidelity radio that needs some love. The FM radio works but sometimes reception is not good. Sometimes it is. Thees model number is clearly original model, as picture on back of radio shows.
The tuning dial works. 3 FM will show up around 108 on the dial. I'm not sure why this is. The am FM-AFC FM selector knob works.
The bass is booming if you want it to boom. The am radio worked when I first got it but doesn't work anymore. The tuning dial goes down to 570 am and 89.
See pictures. The tone control works. Sometimes you listen to it and sounds great then all of a sudden the sound like is fading away.
There is a phono input but it was not tested. The volume control works. Move it around to adjust the signal. The cabinet measures 15 x 8 10 high.
When it comes to playing am talk radio, the radio has no equal of course. Listening to the Beatles on it is. Then you turn it off, listen to later and can be OK again. The power cord is antenna.
With box and packaging I expect the weight to be about 16. 5 FM and up to about am estimated as these are non-English language stations I can't determine the perhaps that is what model was sold in Canada. The tuning dial, volume and tone controls silver-colored ring all show wear. The radio came out in 1950s I think and having it cranked up blaring guns' n' roses, nirvana, etc.
