Pros of Buying Taylor UXCV11 Vacuum Tubes:

1. High Power Handling: The Taylor UXCV11 is a powerful triode vacuum tube designed for high power applications, making it suitable for use in amplifiers and transmitters.

2. Air Cooled: These vacuum tubes are air-cooled, which means they do not require a complicated cooling system, making them easier to integrate into various setups.

3. Reliability: Vacuum tubes, when properly maintained, can provide long-lasting service, especially when used in applications where the tube is not switched on and off frequently.

4. Authentic Tube Sound: Vacuum tubes are known for their warm, rich, and dynamic sound, which can enhance the overall audio quality in amplifiers and transmitters.

Cons of Buying Taylor UXCV11 Vacuum Tubes:

1. Inefficiency: Compared to solid-state devices, vacuum tubes are less efficient, consuming more power and generating more heat.

2. Fragility: Vacuum tubes are more delicate and prone to damage from physical shock and vibration, as well as electrical surges.

3. Maintenance: Vacuum tubes require regular maintenance, including replacement of components like the anode and grid, and regular cleaning to remove accumulated dust and moisture.

4. Limited Availability: Compared to solid-state devices, vacuum tubes may be harder to find, especially for older or less common models, which could lead to higher costs.

Conclusion:

The Taylor UXCV11 vacuum tube offers a combination of high power handling, air cooling, reliability, and authentic tube sound, making it a suitable choice for various high power applications. However, it is essential to consider the lower efficiency, fragility, maintenance requirements, and potential availability issues before making a decision. If these drawbacks are acceptable, the Taylor UXCV11 vacuum tube could be a valuable addition to your equipment.

Recommendation:

If you are looking for high-quality vacuum tubes for your amplifier or transmitter, the Taylor UXCV11 could be a worthwhile investment. However, it is essential to weigh the pros and cons carefully and consider factors like your budget, the specific application, and your willingness to maintain the tube regularly. Additionally, it may be beneficial to research alternatives from other manufacturers to ensure you are making the best choice for your needs.

Details:

Lot of 2 UXCV11 tubes made by Taylor. I do not have the means to test tubes any further. The shards of glass are common for the UXCV series. The one with just the glass shard: 0.5 ohms.

Ships via USPS priority, well packaged. These measurements are approximate, not perfect. The following is the resistance of filaments: one with metal tab broken: 0.5 ohms. It does not look like it has moved though.

Both have a shard of glass, and one has piece metal from grid pin stop plate it should stopper on either side the ceramic base bottom anode, but there is only very. The metal tab is considered structurally compromised, but possibly still usable.
